Tiffany Olson Jones heads Symantec's North and Latin American Government Affairs office in Washington D.C. and is responsible for U.S., Canada and Latin America government relations. In this role, she develops and drives consensus on legislation and policy concerning technology, information security, privacy, and other appropriate public policy issues. Ms. Jones acts as the eyes and ears on the ground in D.C. for the Symantec's corporate team, and maintains close relationships with the Business Software Alliance, ITAA and other trade associations. Ms. Jones and her team serve as the D.C. based resource to federal and state government officials, which includes providing the company's public policy platform, and coordinating the provision of product and subject matter experts to assist legislators and agencies on development of technology and business related policy. Ms. Jones has represented Symantec and U.S. industry in many capacities, including as a company press spokesperson, designated representative for the company CEO and other VP's during various high profile events and initiatives, and delegate at recent government-industry bilateral events with foreign governments in Europe, Australia, Japan and Canada. She is on the Board of Officers for the Women's High Tech Coalition and the National Cyber Security Alliance, Executive Committee of the IT-ISAC, and is co-chair of the Information Security Committee at ITAA and the IT-Sector Coordinating Council (IT-SCC) Communications Committee.

Prior to working for Symantec in March 2003, Ms. Jones assumed the duties of Deputy Chief of Staff of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board at the White House in January 2002. In addition to her Deputy Chief of Staff responsibilities, she was responsible for Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Cybersecurity Education and Awareness programs, and Industry Outreach. Additionally, Ms. Jones coordinated all 11 White House town hall events for the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace dialogue, and assisted in the drafting of the document.

Ms. Jones graduated from the Coast Guard Academy and received her commission as a Coast Guard Officer. She began her Coast Guard operational career as a Deck Watch Officer and Assistant Operations Officer aboard the cutter JUNIPER in Newport, RI. Following that assignment, she served a two-year assignment as Executive Officer aboard the cutter GRAND ISLE in Gloucester, MA, the last three months of which she assumed command of the cutter. In June 2000, Ms. Jones was assigned to Coast Guard Congressional Affairs, where she served as a liaison for the Coast Guard and Department of Transportation.

Ms. Jones' military awards include Coast Guard Officer of the Year Award (2002), a Coast Guard Commendation Medal, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, numerous Commandant's Letter of Commendation Ribbons, the Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation award, Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation award, six Special Operations Ribbons, the Sea Service Ribbon and other unit citations.
