Become a Champion

What Are Champions?

Champions of Data Privacy Day recognize that individuals, organizations, business and government all share the responsibility to be aware of privacy challenges and bring information privacy into our daily thoughts, conversations and actions. The steps we take may differ based on what we do online and our responsibilities. However, we all need to understand how individual actions have a collective impact on privacy.

Why should you be a Data Privacy Day champion?

Being a champion is a way for you to officially show your support for Data Privacy Day and your commitment to privacy. Being a champion is easy and does not require any financial support. Champions can include:

  • Industry: companies of any size.
  • Education: K-12 (including individual schools), colleges and universities, school districts, departments of education and school boards.
  • Non-profit organizations: community-based, statewide, national and international, trade and professional associations
  • Government: Federal, State, Local, and Tribal including municipalities, state agencies and smaller units within state or local governments.

As a champion of Data Privacy Day, your organization will be asked to participate by reaching and educating customers, citizens, employees and communities through events, activities and/or other campaign distribution methods.

In return, we will display your logo on our website and list any events you may be holding on our Events page.
