NCSA’s National K-12 Studies

Every year, the NCSA presents a National K-12 Study that looks the state of cyberethics, cybersafety, and cybersecurity training in our nation's schools. Our 2011 survey, conducted by 463 Communication and Zogby International and supported by Microsoft, polled 1,012 teachers, 402 school administrators, and 200 technology coordinators in January and February 2011, using a research design of online surveys and telephone interviews.

The 2011 State of K-12 Cyberethics, Cybersafety and Cybersecurity Curriculum in the United States
The 2011 State of K-12 Cyberethics, Cybersafety and Cybersecurity Curriculum in the United States is a survey presented by the National Cyber Security Alliance and Microsoft. Building on the NCSA’s previous K-12 studies from 2008 and 2010, this year’s survey further explores the perceptions and practices of U.S. teachers, school administrators and technology coordinators in regards to cyberethics, cybersafety and cybersecurity education. This year’s survey finds that young people still are not receiving adequate training and that teachers are ill-prepared to teach the subjects due, in large part, to lack of professional development.

2010 Study
The State of Cyberethics, Cybersafety, and Cybersecurity Curriculum in the U.S. Survey

The 2010 State of K-12 Cyberethics, Cybersafety and Cybersecurity Curriculum in the U.S. Survey, an extension of the 2008 National Cyberethics, Cybersafety, and Cybersecurity Baseline Study, is an effort to understand current online safety and security education attitudes and practices of U.S. teachers, administrators, and technology coordinators.
