Avoiding Scams: Don’t Respond
That mistaken text or email is probably a scam
Scammers blast out seemingly random text messages to millions of phone numbers hoping someone will respond, even just by saying "wrong number." These criminals then strike up a conversation and use their bag of tricks to con you out of your money.

You receive a phone call and the person asked for someone who didn’t live there, you would tell them they called the wrong number.

You shouldn’t respond.
