Industry Leaders from NXP Semiconductors and Salesforce Join the National Cyber Security Alliance’s Board of Directors
Washington, D.C. – The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) ‒ a nonprofit, public-private partnership focused on helping all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online ‒ announces that Sami Nassar, vice president of cybersecurity solutions at NXP® Semiconductors, and Masha Sedova, senior director of trust engagement at Salesforce, have joined its board of directors.
NXP Semiconductors’ Sami Nassar is a digital security leader dedicated to driving data security and privacy across industries for mobile payments, the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected cars. Mr. Nassar’s diverse experience ranges from launching startup companies in Silicon Valley to building and leading large international organizations with diverse cultural, functional and geographic backgrounds.
Salesforce’s Masha Sedova is a people-security expert, speaker and trainer devoted to educating employees to ensure that they understand their critical roles in a cyber-safe organization. She has fostered a team that promotes a cybersecure mindset at Salesforce, which combines user security behavior testing and data analytics with elements of gamification and positive psychology. Ms. Sedova and her group build security simulations, company-wide competitions, and custom lab environments to inspire effective learning of key security behaviors. Her efforts have resulted in a program that has positively impacted how Salesforce’s employees, customers, partners and large corporations approach cybersecurity.
“Not only are NXP and Salesforce creating innovative products, but they are also working continuously to establish a culture of cybersecurity. It is abundantly clear that both Sami and Masha – along with their colleagues, partners and associates – are dedicated to making the internet safer and more secure. NCSA is also extremely grateful for both organizations’ support of the recently launched Lock Down Your Login campaign,” said Michael Kaiser, NCSA’s executive director. “As the world becomes more and more connected, NXP and Salesforce’s steadfast commitment to strengthening the future of cybersecurity is a complementary and natural fit with NCSA’s mission and ongoing work.”
NXP manufactures a variety of chips for cars and IoT devices – all designed to make lives easier, better and safer. From smart homes and connected cars to wearables and smart cities, the company is driving innovation in end-to-end security and privacy and the smart connected solutions markets. “NCSA’s mission to educate consumers on how to protect their digital lives is imperative from social, economic and national points of view,” said Sami Nassar. “NXP delivers key security technology that secures financial payment systems and government IDs, and helps consumers better protect their online lives by maintaining safety and privacy in a world full of interconnected devices.”
Salesforce’s most significant commitment is to the privacy of customer data. “From day one, trust has been our #1 value at Salesforce,” said Masha Sedova. ”We are excited to partner with NCSA to help make the internet safer for business and individuals alike.”
Both organizations have also demonstrated great support for October’s National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). At the NCSA and Nasdaq Cybersecurity Summit on Oct. 24, Mr. Nassar joined a group of industry leaders on a panel that discussed securely integrating technology into our daily lives. In addition, NXP promoted and participated in several NCSAM Twitter chats and published blogs and newsletters throughout the month. Salesforce launched Trustober – a company-wide event featuring talks about data privacy on social media, quantum computing threats and the anatomy of a cyber attack.
