NCA’s Executive Director, Lisa Plaggemier, will host a discussion with the CEO and Founder of CybSafe, Oz Alashe, on “A Whole Lotta BS (Behavioral Science) About Cybersecurity” taking place on Tuesday, June 7 at 8:30am at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. RSA Conference is the world’s largest global security conference, providing an unmatched platform for the industry to connect with colleagues about the latest technology and trends that influence and protect our interconnected world.

This session will delve into how we all do things we know we shouldn’t and don’t do things we know we should, Behavior is no different when it comes to security. Take multi-factor authentication: many know it enhances security, yet few use it. During this discussion, Lisa Plaggemier and Oz Alashe will explore “Oh Behave!” the 2021 Cybersecurity Attitudes and Behaviors Report, shedding light on the public’s behaviors and beliefs about security and why people do or don’t perform actions that will keep them secure.

Polling 2,000 individuals across the U.S. and UK, the report examines key cybersecurity trends, attitudes and behaviors.

“Cybersecurity continues to be one of the foremost topics of our time with new challenges and developments cropping up every day,” said Lisa Plaggemier, Executive Director, of the National Cybersecurity Alliance. “From a brewing Cyber Cold War to ongoing efforts to modernize global cyber infrastructures, cybersecurity is set to continue to dominate headlines for years to come. And to build the safest world possible and effect change it is essential that we understand the key behavioral drivers that are underpinning many of the cyber activities of everyday people. This report aimed to do just that, and we are incredibly excited to discuss these findings with the RSA Conference community at this year’s event.”
